Marketing for Restaurants, Cafes and Quick-Service Brands

Restaurant marketing has two jobs: get people nearby to choose you tonight, and keep you in their feed between visits. Below is what we have done for pizzerias, cafes, restaurant groups and a Canada-wide taco chain, what it produced, and how to judge whether the same approach fits you.

What does a restaurant actually need from marketing?

Most restaurants need a steady supply of craveable, local content and someone to publish it consistently. Diners decide fast and close to home, so the content that works is shot well, reaches the neighbourhood you serve, and keeps showing up between visits rather than only during a promotion.

Across our restaurant work, the same three problems come up again and again:

What results has Social Signals documented for restaurants?

These numbers come straight from our published case studies. Where a case study does not give a number, we describe the work instead of inventing one.

What these numbers do and do not show. Our restaurant case studies report views and reach. None of them publish order counts, reservation counts or foot-traffic figures, so we do not quote any here. If those are the numbers you care about (they usually should be), we agree up front how they will be tracked before any content goes out.

Which restaurant marketing approach fits your type of business?

The right approach depends on how many locations you run and where your customers come from. A single neighbourhood pizzeria and a national quick-service chain need different content, even if both post short-form video.

Which numbers should a restaurant track from social media and ads?

Track the numbers that end in a meal: orders, reservations and visits. Views and followers are useful early signals, but they only matter if they come from people who can reach you.

How should you evaluate a restaurant marketing agency?

Ask for restaurant work that matches your format, and ask how the agency will connect content to orders. A strong portfolio from a different kind of business tells you little.

  1. Show me a restaurant like mine. Single location, regional, group or quick-service. The playbooks differ.
  2. Where did the views come from? National reach looks impressive but rarely fills local tables.
  3. Who films, and how often? Ask whether they shoot on site, how many assets a shoot day produces, and how often they come back.
  4. Who replies to comments and DMs? Community management is part of what turns attention into orders.
  5. How will we measure orders? Agree on tracked links, offer codes or platform reports before launch.

What does working with Social Signals look like for a restaurant?

  1. Menu and audience reviewWe pick the menu stars, the neighbourhoods or markets you serve, and the moments (launches, seasons, local events) worth planning around.
  2. ShootWe film dishes, drinks, the room and the team, planned so one shoot day covers as much of the calendar as possible.
  3. Edit and publishShort-form edits cut natively for TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts, published on a consistent cadence.
  4. Manage and reportComments and DMs handled, then a review of what drove local reach, profile actions and orders, so the next month builds on what worked.

Which services do restaurants usually start with?

Most of our restaurant clients start with short-form video and social media management, then add paid ads once they know which content performs.
